"Phil Coyne and The Wayward Aces" Debut Album
Phil Coyne and The Wayward Aces' follow up release to "Sound and Fury" rockets along like a hi octane blues fueled jet fighter.
While Sound and Fury was fully immersed in Blues, the new release "Phil Coyne and The Wayward Aces" goes adventuring into new territory - from Chicago blues to early 60's rock and roll, garage surf and rockabilly.
Recorded on one track tape quarter inch tape at Quasar Studio over two dates in 2023, the album was recorded in one room a la “Sound and Fury”. Maestro Sam Valentino recorded, mixed and mastered the album.
The album has "a polished new sound, excellent mixing, Coyne in top form, and the band cranking out tunes reestablishing Wayward Aces as one of the top Aussie blues bands to watch in 2024."
Mindy McCall, Indiepulsemusic.com

Steven Jump Children 89.5 Valley FM
'Original Australian High energy old school, harp driven, arse kickin stunning debut from Phil Coyne and the Wayward Aces' - Barry Maxwell - Blues on the Hill.
"The whole album reminds me of the early blues where the emotion and joy of music was very evident in the way they just went for it without close inspection or insistence that everything was perfect or rehearsed 100 times"
June Price, Bidgee Blues Show, TripleA Wagga Wagga
Listeners will be impressed by the furious energy": Big City Blues Magazine, Chicago
"The songs smoulder with an overdriven, almost punk-like intensity, as if Michigan Ave circa 1954 was plugged into London circa 1977; it's powerful, but tempered in just the right places for maximum effect" Blues.GR
